Membership Information

Interested in joining Rudis? Come to some of our events, get to know us, and let us get to know you. Contact the VP of Membership for more information as well. All levels of membership are expected to follow the Club Rules, listed below, as well as Rudis’ bylaws and Standard Operating Procedures, which will be provided to you during your application process.

General Membership

  • General Members have full voting privileges in Rudis.

  • General Members are expected to serve on a committee, volunteer at our fundraising events, and generally contribute to Rudis in other ways.

  • General Members are expected to attend all General Membership Meetings, which are held on the first Sunday of every month at Bar:PM at 1pm.

  • General Membership dues are $90 for the first year and $45 to renew each year thereafter (all members must renew each year by January 31st regardless of the month they joined).

Application Process

  • To be considered for General Membership you must be known to members of Rudis, have spoken with the Vice President of Membership, have a sponsor willing to advocate for you, and send in an application.

  • After applying, you must attend three General Membership Meetings (GMM). You will be introduced at the first meeting you attend and your application will be voted on at the third meeting you attend.

    • If you do not attend 3 meetings within a six-month timespan, you will need to begin the application process again.

    • In addition to required attendance at three GMMs, you are encouraged to attend other Rudis events during this time.

    • Your application will be discussed by the Membership Committee, which will recommend or not recommend your application.

    • You have the right to rescind your own application at any time in this process for any reason.

  • General Member applications are approved by a majority vote of General Members.

    • The Vice President of Membership will inform you of the status of your application within 7 days of your application being voted on.

    • If your application was approved, you will be asked to pay your initial dues to the Treasurer before receiving your membership item package at the next GMM.

    • Your membership in Rudis begins upon payment of your initial dues. You will be invited to our Discord Server where we conduct most of our discussions between GMMs.

    • If your application was denied, you will be able to apply again after six months. The voting period of our GMMs are closed to the public, therefore we may be unable to give you specific reasons for why the application was denied.

Upon admission to the club and payment of initial dues to the Treasurer, General Members receive their membership item package which includes: a black members-only shirt, a large Rudis back patch set (club colors), a MACC patch, a personalized Rudis mug, and two Rudis friendship pins. These materials are covered by your first year dues. Other items may be added at the discretion of the Vice President of Membership. All payment of membership dues (initial and renewal) are final.

Associate Membership

  • Associate Members have no voting privileges in Rudis.

  • Associate Members are allowed to attend all Rudis events.

  • Associate Members are allowed to serve on committees and encouraged to volunteer for our fundraising events and contribute to Rudis in other ways.

  • Associate Membership dues are $45 for the first year and $25 to renew each year thereafter (all members must renew each year by January 31st regardless of the month they joined).

Application Process

  • To be considered for Associate Membership you must be known to members of Rudis, have a sponsor willing to advocate for you, and send in an application.

  • After applying, you must attend any three Rudis events (e.g. Wednesday Leather Socials, Leather ‘n Lattes, Guest Bartending after GMMs, Rudis’ Leather Runs, etc). You will be introduced at the first meeting after your application is received and your application will be voted on at the next meeting after attending three events. Your attendance is not required to be introduced or to be voted on, but highly encouraged.

    • If you are a full/general member in good standing of a MACC club, you are exempted from attending three Rudis events.

    • Your application will be discussed by the Membership Committee, which will recommend or not recommend your application.

  • Associate Member applications are approved by a majority vote of General Members.

Club Rules

  1. Members must be over 21 years of age.

  2. No Fighting.

  3. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

  4. Prejudiced behavior will not be tolerated.

  5. Members must be in good standing in order to participate in any member benefits.

  6. Members must be in good standing to vote.

  7. The current Treasurer cannot have a pending conviction, or be convicted of a felony.

  8. Members’ behavior that jeopardizes the Rudis organization, its members, any surrounding bystanders, or causes damage to personal or public property will be subject to legal action.

  9. Members will not falsely represent the Rudis organization or present false claims against the organization or its members.
